After having my regular eye examination, I had to have a follow up procedure. I was seen at the time of my appointment, and since I am a registered patient, did not have to fill out forms again, which were already on file, and was treated very professionally, and courteously. I owe Dr. Raparia my life. I was having vision issues and after my visit with her she ordered a brain scan as she was concerned that there was something bigger going on than my eyesight. The staff there was great (Samantha) in getting my MRI approved and the person who called me to inform me of the lesions offered assistance in getting me help when it was determined I had brain lesions.

I am very satisfied with the overall operation of this office. I wouldn’t change a thing…..and I did notice that the main waiting area was updated to a neutral grey with matching chairs since my last visit.

South Shore Eye Care provides excellent care. I had bilateral cataracts removed and laser correction of my eyesight by Dr. Flicker. It was a seamless experience with a life-changing outcome. Dr. Flicker is talented, patient, funny, kind, and knowledgeable and he explains things so that everything is crystal clear. Prior to my procedure, EVERYTHING was explained verbally and in writing, including costs. I also received phone calls to remind me to get a Covid test the proper amount of days before the procedure. I am a nurse working in an outpatient surgical facility and I learned how we can be more thorough in ensuring pre-op compliance. To translate for future patients: If pre-op testing for a procedure with South Shore Eye Care gets messed up, it is on the you. Read your papers, listen to the Dr. and staff, and all will be well. If you have to wait in the office (I’ve never waited longer than 15 minutes), it will be worth it. The practice is busy, but the staff is friendly, professional, and they work hard to keep everything flowing. I have been so impressed by the staff–are you listening, Dr. Flicker et al.? I never hear whining, complaining, or impatience; the staff never wear grumpy expressions,They are patient, kind, helpful, and have a sense of humor. Nobody is ever idly chatting: these people WORK!

My experience at South Shore was mixed. Dr. Flicker was excellent, thorough and extremely knowledgeable. However, the technician I had was inexperienced, confused and didn’t recognize my glasses had progressive lenses. She had to call in the office manager to complete my eye test; not exactly confidence building

She continues to monitor my eye health after I sustained a concussion and scratched cornea from a fall in 2021. I never realized that type of injury needed to monitored for life. But she did!!! I’ve been a patient of Dr. Benjamin for years. I always relied on his diagnosis and always felt that he was the best. I recently had laser and cataract surgery. I am thrilled with the outcome. He explained everything about the surgery and advised me what the procedure entailed during the surgery. I have recommended him to friends and they all say he’s a wonderful doctor and are pleased with his prognosis. I remember when my husband was dying from cancer and his eyesight was failing. Dr. Benjamin prescribed a lens for his glasses and he was very happy to see for a few months. Dr. Benjamin is the best dr. I wouldn’t change to anyone else.

The doctor was informed, about my past exams, and I was told that I did NOT need to change my glasses for a new prescription. From initial consultation, through cataract surgery on both eyes through follow up, Dr Flicker and his staff were outstanding. My visits involve minimal wait time to be seen and I am usually finished with my visit within a half hour depending on testing needed. As always, Dr. Mark Stein displayed why he is the best at what he does. I’ve been with him for 42 years and credit him with saving my life by discovering a malignant melanoma in my eye back in 1978. He always gives my “good eye” a thorough exam and reassures me that all is well. Can you even guess at the peace of mind that gives me?

I recently had cataract surgery with lens implant by Dr. Flicker at South Shore Eye Care. As a former nurse, I was anxious about the surgery and possible complications. Surgery was successful & went smoothly . I cannot praise this group & Dr. Flicker enough for the care I have received. The office staff is terrific also! P.S. I left another eye group after many years because of inattentive care & being rushed & was recommended to South Shore Eye Care. Best decision ever.

I am writing this note to express my appreciation for Dr. Howard Lane and the staff at South Shore Eye Care in Wantagh. At my initial visit last week, calls back immediately from Dr. Lane last week verifying medication and my recent follow-up visit on 10/29/2019. From entering the practice and signing in, the special attention Joanna greeted me and with her compassionate concern and professional knowledge answering any questions and comments, I had and vice versa.
In previous years and up to the present time, I saw first-hand the special attention to detail in their patients, they showed, from our Mom, Brother Don, my Sister Lynn and our Cousins Sandy & Lenny Shifren.

First let me say, Dr Diaz was kind, competent and reassuring. She saw me as an emergency patient on a Saturday morning. I was having eye flashes and extremely anxious. She examined me, explained what was happening and even gave me a two page printout that I could take home and refer to. That was a first. Kaitlyn the receptionist whom I first spoke with was also very understanding. Thank you both.

I was having an eye issue so I called and made an appt. but couldn’t get an appt. until the following day. My eye continued to really bother me so being around the corner from the office I walked there with the hope they could squeeze me in. I waited a while but was seen by Dr Lane and its always a pleasure to be examined by him. He prescribed medication for me to treat the cyst I had and I began to get relief right away. I had been to 3 different doctors prior to meeting Dr.Lane and no one could seem to identify the cause of my eye symptoms. Dr. Lane was professional, thorough and caring and because of his diligence I was referred for an MRI which revealed a fistula on the brain causing my eye problems. If it weren’t for Dr.Lane the fistula would have gone undiagnosed and the possible outcomes could have been tragic. I would highly recommend going to south shore eye care! They will listen to you, take your symptoms seriously and will make the necessary referrals to identify and solve your eye problems!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Benjamin for more than a decade now. His professionalism and bedside manner are impeccable. The practice is run like a well oiled machine. My appointment was for this morning at 9:30 AM. I arrived 5 minutes late and their parking lot was full. No problem plenty of street parking. I was called in at 9:40 and my comprehensive eye exam was completed at 10:20. Better service by a better group of people would be hard to find.
