Dr. Grondel is an exceptional surgeon. My jobs are very physical and I’ve had to use his services several times in the past and just recently. Each time I’m surprised by just what a great job he does no matter how bad I’ve managed to mess things up. I have recommended him several times to friends and family that have needed to have orthopedic surgery. I believe he has no equal in the valley. .
Dr. Hoer can communicate with patients and he diagnoses in a way that is understandable. He gave me a cortisone shot to the knee and I felt NOTHING. It was amazing. The previous shot I received felt like fire going into my joint.
Exceptionally wonderful Doctor. Instills confidence, explains everything. Very knowledgeable and personable. Complete faith in him.

Two knee surgeries by Dr. Hoer over the past 5 years (one on each knee), and numerous office visits. Dr. Hoer and staff are the very best, and have my undying gratitude for the kindness and skill that have made this all bearable.
From the time I arrived to when I saw the doctor was 15 minutes. Dr. Hoer was absolutely fantastic! He explained everything to me in a language I could understand, gave me options, and did not rush through the appointment. One of the things that truly impressed me was he looked at me the entire time while an assistant typed into the computer. All the staff at the institute was cordial and carrying. Good job!
Dr. Hoer and his team are unquestionably as good as it gets. Having to deal with a broken ankle or any ailment for that matter can be fearful. This team gave me the highest level of attention throughout and as a result I have total confidence in my healing and recovery. Rarely does an experience affect you in such a way but I’ve been looking forward to writing this review and others since, because it stood out on such a level, recognition is warranted. Thank you Dr. Hoer and your wonderful team for doing an exceptional job and moving people like me beyond the fear and well down the road to recovery. If I could give this Doctor a thousand stars, I would. My husband had a freak accident playing basketball that resulted in a life threatening bacterial infection. We were in the hospital for ten days and Dr. Hoer visited us everyday and performed two surgeries on my husband. Upon discharge, Dr. Hoer and his amazing staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND. If we needed anything whatsoever, Dr. Hoer and his staff were there for us immediately. Dr. Hoer is extremely knowledgeable. He strikes the perfect balance between not downplaying the seriousness of the situation but still putting you at ease. I can’t thank this man enough. With my husband’s medical issues we’ve seen a multitude of doctors over the years. Many of them were excellent but none of them come close to Doctor Hoer. Again, I’d give him a thousand stars if I could. Thank you Doctor Hoer and your amazing staff. Dr. Hoer and his team are top shelf. He is kind, compassionate, and relatable. He has never once acted arrogant or talked down to me in any way. He sets the bar for what I expect from an orthopedic surgeon. Katie is awesome! She is attentive and does not blow off her responsibilities. She has come through for me in so many ways. The entire staff at OIH has been wonderful.
Dr. Hoer just did a left TKR for me and I climbed stairs upon arriving home from the hospital. He does expert work. From taking enough time with you so you feel he genuinely cares, to explaining the whys and how comes; he is fabulous and I count myself lucky to have him as my doctor.

I get great and considerate care for my “bone and joint” needs. Dr. Tait is incredible.
I had a complete left hip replacement done in December of 2015 by Dr. Hoer. He had come highly recommended through personal references, and now I’m happy to say I can also give him the highest references. He and his staff were very attentive and cordial. The surgery was explained in detail so there would be no surprises. The treatment I received at the hospital after surgery was more like a 5 star resort. In all, I was totally pleased with my results, and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Orthopedic Institute of Henderson.
I came to Dr. Hoer for a second opinion on my injured knee because I was desperate to run without pain. My wait time was reasonable. I appreciated the very nice front desk staff, and the pleasant X-ray technician. X-rays are done on premise, which is a total plus, although it seems pretty standard in the ortho world these days.
Dr. Hoer spent a fair amount of time explaining what he saw on my x-rays and MRI, and I appreciated his laying out the options and suggesting a conservative, less invasive approach to start out with.
Oh, and the saltwater taffy was a nice treat in the waiting room. Based on my first visit, I’d recommend. I’ll update following my next appointment after 6 weeks of physical therapy.
Dr Hoer is the most dedicated, kind, knowledgable orthopedic surgeon I’ve ever met. Most of them are prima donnas who could care less about their patients, but Dr. hoer is in a league of his own, setting a new standard for caring surgeons.
Dr. Hoer is without a doubt, the best orthopedic doctor I have ever been treated by. He is very compassionate and treats the patient, not simply the condition. He is honest, and highly skilled always placing the patient first. When considering any medical practitioner, trust is undoubtedly one of the highest considerations. Dr Hoer is IMO, second to none !
Dr Hoer is very caring. He explains everything and is not quick to suggest surgery. Everyone in the office is friendly and polite and have great respect for Dr Hoer. You will not be sorry if you decide to see Dr. Hoer.
He made the most sense of any Dr. I spoke with and told me my options and that even with the MRI he would know more once he was able to look inside. He was very through did what was best for my knee. I believe I received the best from him. The procedure was done at St.Rose and the anesthesia and assistants were fine. Once I awoke (the hospital) staff wanted me to leave right away.
Dr. Hoer is just kind of an all around incredible person. I have broken multiple bones but never have I received the level of attention that I did from Dr. Hoer and his team. Not only did I feel like the medical guidance and service I was given was top notch, it was undeniable that my broken ankle healing properly was as important to him as it was to me. Dr. Hoer is as good as it gets and he’s earned my eternal gratitude and support. I recommend him as highly as he came recommended to me. A++++
I LOVE LOVE THIS DR. HE IS THE NICEST DR. YOU COULD POSSIBLY HAVE. HE TAKES THE TIME TO ACTUALLY TALK TO YOU, EXPLAINS EVERYTHING MEDICAL AND GIVES YOU OPTIONS. HE ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS AND DOESN’T RUSH HIS TIME WITH YOU. I TOTALLY TRUST THIS DR.
I had fluid on my right knee that was very painful. I am on the blood thinner Eliquist so I was very afraid to have the fluid removed. Dr Grondel did such a marvelous job removing the fluid (less painful than going to the Dentist) and also I had NO BRUISING WHATSOEVER! A miracle. He was very gentle and kind!
Presented all available options. Personable, knowledgeable and a skilled surgeon.
